Luke (focusing, quietly): All right, I'll give it a try.
Yoda: No! Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.
Luke closes his eyes and concentrates on thinking the ship out., the
X-wing's nose begins to rise above the water. It hovers for a moment and
then slides back, disappearing once again.

"Would you tell me please, which way I ought to walk from here?"

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
